XL rat TAIL is the stage name for independent singer-songwriter Joshua Benjamin Rose, based in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. He writes cinematic, dark folk-punk music as a multi-instrumentalist, using an unorthodox approach to the nylon-stringed guitar and electric bass guitar highlighting a clever use of creative effects and distinctive picking styles.

Joshua also manages No Cuff Rose Music Publishing Company LLC, which oversees his music publishing and record label distribution.
