Driving to get groceries, thinking about the Nazis

Sure, those hateful fascists drove a Mercedes-Benz 770.

But, is was a Ford that really got them going.

Henry Ford’s automobile company was incorporated on June 16, 1903 (back in dinosaur days) and since then they’ve been churning out cars and trucks. Ford has also been the brand choice of our military. Yep, government contracts have assured that, even when every other automobile manufacturer is struggling to stay in business, Ford keeps going strong. Henry Ford, you old so-n-so!

However, he had a newspaper that sucked.

That newspaper was The Dearborn Independent and, in the 1920’s, its circulation was tanking.

So, Henry Ford came up with the idea to run a series of articles addressing “The Jewish question”. The Jewish question is not, “Is the person you are dating Jewish?”. The Jewish question was a European society debate about how Jewish people should be treated.

“Like humans” proved to be an elusive answer.

With chapter titles like, The International Jew: The World’s Most Foremost Problem it was twenty-one articles of antisemitism., twenty-one issues of vilification. So, these articles, meant to drive up subscription numbers, exploited people’s fear and hatred. And they were popular!

“How popular?” You ask?

After publication they would be printed in a four-volume set and turns out the big Nazi himself, Adolf Hitler read and referred to the articles.

People talk about Mein Kampf, what Hitler wrote.

But, what was he reading?

Henry Ford’s bullshit.

So, we can say, “The Nazis lost” (capital N).

But, the nazis (small n) clearly, are still in business.
